Vintage Hand-Made Jujeña Area Rug
These Jujeña Rugs are several decades old and made completely by hand in the desert highlands of Jujuy, Argentina. Many of these were originally made as heavy blankets to help stave off the cold during the rugged winter nights in the arid mountains.
Some of the blankets include the names woven into them. In the traditional Incan-inspired culture of Northwestern Argentina, the artist never signed their name on the blanket, instead weaving the name of the original owner into the fabric.
This is a rich piece of history that can bring a nice bit of color and energy into your home.
All Jujeña Rugs measure roughly 5ft x 6ft
