Ethically-Made, Hand-Embroidered Merino Wool Beret
The berets are hand-embroidered by graduates of the “Tejiendo el Barrio”, or Knitting the Neighborhood, initiative. Running in underserved government housing zones in Buenos Aires, the project promotes social inclusion and teaches valuable skills to local participants, providing an additional source of income and a way to showcase talent and creativity.
We invite you to watch this video where they share their stories and show off their craft.
History of The Beret in Argentina
The Beret or "Boina Vasca" made its way to Argentina thanks to the many Basque immigrants that came to Argentina in its early years, tracing back to the Basque region on the border of Spain and France. They have since formed a distinctive part of Argentine fashion.
