This vase is hewn from a solid block of Fireland Cherry Wood using the ancient technique of woodturning. All of our turned pieces are made by the Father/Son duo of Matias and Francisco Castro. Matias runs a wood-turning school in the Lanus neighborhood of Buenos Aires, and Fran, according to Mati, is his best student!

The Beehive Vase pays homage to all of the pollinators out there. A ton of what we do is inspired by local flora and fauna, both of which flourish thanks to the bees.

Fireland Cherry (called Lenga in Argentina) is native to the Southern Andes range in Argentina and Chile and is a semi-durable wood with beautiful rippling and color.

The vases are treated with natural beeswax and are not designed to hold water. Instead, these vases are made for dried bouquets or can serve as standalone sculptures.
