The Giant Ritual Mask
This decorative mask is hand-carved and hand-painted using traditional techniques by skilled artisans from the Chané indigenous group in Salta, Argentina.
These ritual masks are used in the Andean Carnaval, which blends Incan festivities including tributes to the Pachamama (mother earth), and the Catholic Carnival.
Please note this mask is made of the porous native Argentine wood called Palo Borracho and is intended for decorative purposes only.
Size: 25.5in x 7.5in x 4in
When I saw the work online I knew I needed to have this work of art. When it came in the mail, it was even more beautiful! Love it so much!
I am very enamored of these masks and the opportunity to admire another culture's art. My mask arrived quickly, within a week, and exactly matched the size description and appearance in the photos. It's super cool and I look forward to hanging it on the wall!
Over the years we organically began collecting masks, and now have a mask wall. The duck is the perfect addition -- so unique, and for a very reasonable price. The mask was shipped promptly, packed well, and came with a lovely handwritten note from Ryan. Thank you!
Looked exactly like the photos. Arrived quickly and was well package
